Operating System
Windows 98 installed. You can install any operating system of your choice if you like.
Attention:
This unit has some peculiarities that you need to be aware of before ordering.
It has Windows 98 installed.
If you power it down and after a few minutes power it back on, it loses the Date/Time settings and will give you the checksum error. You will have to enter setup and enter the correct Date/Time. We replaced the CMOS battery but that did not help. Not a big issue if you intend to keep the system running all the time. If you shut it down every day, then every day you will have to either setup Date/Time or just ignore it and continue without the correct Date/Time.
The CD-ROM drive ejects through the system, not using the external button. To eject, you go to My Computer, right click on the CD-ROM and select eject.
You have to power off the system using the Power Switch in front. When you Power Off using the system command, it does try to shut down but does'nt seem to. Then when you power down using the switch, it powers down but upon reboot, it says Windows was not properly shut down so it will perform a system check. Again - not an issue but still we would like you to be aware of it.
